Franz became interested in building at the age of four when he watched his father build a wall, inspired by the activity he quickly learnt from his father about all manner of building materials and techniques. During his school years he developed a talent for drawing and studied Fine Art in Germany before embarking on a diploma in architecture at the School of Architecture in Cologne (Germany) and the Architect Academie in Aarhus (Denmark) following that he moved to London where he studied for a BSc and a Diploma in Architecture at the University of East London.
Prior to opening an Architectural Practice in 2009 with London based Italian Architect Mark Zudini, Franz worked on a variety of projects in Germany and London, including the BMW plant in Leipzig, various school and community housing projects in Germany and London as well as projects for private clients.
His diverse education combined with a decade of experience and the tenacity of his youth provide him with a strong overview and deep understanding about all aspects of architecture from initial concept, design, planning, project management through to implementation and build.
Franz is committed to running projects efficiently without making compromises on design. His detailed knowledge of materials and construction techniques enable him to work closely with specialists and clients alike to deliver high quality results. Franz has a particular interest in developing imaginative solutions to the architectural complexities found in densely populated cities.
He lives in Hackney and when he is not busy with the business of architecture he spends his time playing piano and seeking out the best cakes in London's food markets.
